About the piece

In 2003 I wrote music for Desert Flower, a puppet show written and performed by Yael Erlich Morag. The beautiful desert-like set design includes real sand and water, and the show portrays two tribes in the desert that choose to fight over land and water, until they learn to connect, collaborate, and grow. Sadly, this show is as relevant now as it was when it was created, over 20 years ago. Dance of Desert Night is an adaption of the main theme from that show, featuring dance rhythms with a Middle-Eastern flare.
